Our story from the Gyergyó Mountains
Transilvania Fungi Land is a family business from Gheorgheni (Gyergyószentmiklós), in the heart of Transylvania. Our passion lies in wild mushrooms and the treasures that nature provides.
Our story
Our business was born at the foot of the Gyergyó Mountains, in Gheorgheni, where wild mushroom foraging has been part of the local culture for generations. For decades, our family has been roaming the beech and conifer forests that stretch between 800 and 1,500 metres altitude, where the finest porcini, chanterelles, and other edible mushrooms grow.
Every mushroom is hand-picked and carefully sorted. We only process healthy, flawless specimens. The drying is done in the traditional, natural way, preserving the original taste, aroma, and nutritional value of the mushrooms.
Our goal is to bring the flavours of the Transylvanian highlands into every home. Our products are more than just ingredients — they carry the scent of the forest, the crisp mountain air, and the traditions of the Gyergyó region.
